Fish Oil For Blue

Blue and I moved to Detroit last summer from Texas. We were use to the warm weather and especially the warmer winters. When the winter came in Detroit, it was COLD. We could handle the cold, but we were not use to it. So we got Blue two jackets that kept him warm and mittens for the snow. As the winter went on, I noticed that Blue became itchier on his back and his hair was missing. I was giving him a probiotic, and changed his food and thought maybe it was a food allergy and his skin being dry from the cold.

In April we went to the vet. Normally I would make a list of things to speak about, but we were in a middle of the pandemic and it totally slipped my mind. The vet calls me on the phone and she noticed his hair missing! She recommended a few fish oils and said if this does not help his hair come back then it could be a thyroid issue. Blue was too jumpy at the moment so she couldn’t take his blood right then and there and said to come back in a few months and we will take another look.

Well, now it is May and I can already tell a difference. His coat looks much much better! Not only is his coat looking better but he also stopped trying to scratch his back multiple times a day. If you are experiencing this with your pup, I would definitely recommend starting with fish oil first and also speak to your vet.
